Seminar 3

Inclusion, usability and difference

In this seminar we want to think about how we might understand technological inclusion and exclusion in the context of diverse lives, by drawing on the experience of other 'technologically excluded' groups. What are the differences and the similarities between people who are considered to be technologically excluded on the grounds of age, disability, poverty, or lack of education? What about people who actively choose to opt out of using technologies? What lessons can be learned from people's lived experiences? What fails? What works?
