Project overview

This EU funded two year project was launched in August 2009 and aims to to explore if and how new technologies can improve the quality of life of older people. New Technologies improve the accessibility of information, enhance contact possibilities and contribute to people's independence. Investigating whether existing pedagogic approaches are the best way of enabling older people to learn new technologies is according to us one of the methods to reach this aim.

The project is led by Open University (United Kingdom) in collaboration with four other partners:
  • University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences (Slovenia)
  • University of Stirling (United Kingdom)
  • Technical University of Dortmund, Institute of Gerontology (Germany)
  • Verwey-Jonker Instituut (Netherlands)
